Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Qualia when you sign in, build a profile or take part in verification.

Last updated October 4, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Qualia that applies when you use the Qualia website and its tools. Please read them together with the Privacy Policy, which explains how your information is handled, and the Community Guidelines, which are part of these terms.

1.Accepting these terms

You accept these terms when you sign in to Qualia for the first time. If you do not agree with them, do not create an account. If you only read public pages without signing in, the parts of these terms on acceptable use, intellectual property, disclaimers and liability still apply to that use.

In these terms:

  • Qualia, we and us mean the independent project that operates Qualia.
  • The service means the Qualia website and any other Qualia tool that links to these terms.
  • Member means anyone with a Qualia account. You means you, as a member or as a visitor.
  • Content means anything a member adds to Qualia: profile text, links, images, experience entries, and messages and notes written in verification requests.
  • An experience entry is a record of a staff position, or a series of positions, that a member says they held in an ER:LC community, with dates.
  • A community is an ER:LC community named in an experience entry. A registered community is one whose Discord server has been registered on Qualia by someone who owns or manages that server.
  • A community’s owner is the member who registered it. Its reviewers are the members the owner adds to review verification requests. Owners and reviewers are the community’s representatives.
  • Administrators are the people the operator of Qualia has chosen to moderate the service.

2.Who can use Qualia

  • You must be at least 13 years old, or older if Discord or the law where you live sets a higher minimum age. Qualia is not directed at children under 13.
  • If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian should read these terms with you.
  • You need a Discord account to sign in. Each Qualia account is tied to one Discord account.
  • You may not use Qualia if we have suspended or closed your account, unless we have told you that you can come back. Do not create another account to get around a suspension.

3.Your account

You sign in to Qualia with Discord. Qualia has no password for you, so the security of your Qualia account depends on the security of your Discord account. We recommend turning on two-factor authentication in Discord.

  • You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • If you think someone else has access to it, end your other sessions from Settings, secure your Discord account, and tell us.
  • Your account is personal to you. Do not sell, trade, share or hand it over to anyone else.
  • You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Your data. The Privacy Policy explains exactly what deletion removes and what is kept.

4.Your content

You own your content. Qualia does not claim ownership of anything you add.

To run the service, Qualia needs your permission to use your content. You give Qualia a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, resize, re-encode and display your content, and to show it to anyone who views your profile, for the purpose of operating and providing Qualia. This includes showing your public profile to search engines, unless you turn off “Show my profile in search and Explore” in Settings.

The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for:

  • records Qualia keeps after you delete something, such as the audit log, as described under How long we keep it in the Privacy Policy;
  • copies held for a limited time in our hosting provider’s backups;
  • copies other people made while your content was public, which Qualia does not control.

You are responsible for your content. Only add content you have the right to share, and make sure it follows these terms and the Community Guidelines.

Qualia does not review content before it appears. We may remove or hide content, or reset a profile field, if it breaks these terms or the guidelines, or if the law requires us to.

5.Accurate experience

Qualia is only useful if profiles are true. When you add an experience entry:

  • add only positions you actually held, in the community you name, for the dates you give;
  • use the title the community gave you, not a better-sounding one;
  • keep the entry up to date, and add an end date when a position ends;
  • do not invent experience, inflate titles or dates, or claim positions in a community that does not exist.

Do not impersonate anyone. That includes other members, communities and their staff, Qualia, and the people behind ER:LC, Roblox or Discord.

A verification covers the entry as it stood when the community confirmed it. If you change the community, department, titles, dates or linked Discord server of an entry that is Pending or Verified, it returns to Unverified, any open request is withdrawn, and the change is recorded. Editing an entry whose verification was revoked or disputed doesn’t change that status. Your description is your own words and can change freely.

6.What verification means

Verification means an authorized representative of the community confirmed the entry. Qualia does not independently investigate claims.

A verification is a statement made by that community, not by Qualia. Qualia does not check a community’s records, confirm anyone’s identity beyond the Discord account they sign in with, or guarantee that a verification is correct.

Every experience entry shows one of these statuses:

  • Unverified. This entry was added by the member. The community has not confirmed it.
  • Pending. The member asked the community to confirm this entry. It has not been reviewed yet.
  • Verified. Confirmed by an authorized representative of this community.
  • Disputed. The member and the community disagree about the details of this entry.
  • Verification revoked. The community withdrew its verification of this entry. A revocation does not by itself indicate misconduct.

Qualia keeps a history of the verification decisions on each entry: who acted for the community, what they decided and when. Revoking or disputing a verification adds to that history; it does not erase it.

Only a registered community can verify an entry. To ask, you link the entry to the community’s Discord server by pasting an invite, then send a request. Entries for communities that aren’t registered stay Unverified. A community decides whether to act on a request, and Qualia can’t make it verify anything.

If you rely on a profile to make a decision, such as hiring staff, check with the community as well.

7.Registering a community

You may register a Discord server as a community on Qualia only if you own it or hold the Administrator or Manage Server permission in it, and only if you run the community or are authorized by the people who do. Qualia checks your permission with Discord through the Qualia bot when you register. Registering makes you the community’s owner on Qualia.

As an owner, you agree to:

  • add as reviewers only people your community trusts to confirm staff records;
  • remove reviewers when they leave your staff or should no longer verify;
  • choose as your log channel only a channel that the people who handle verification can see. Posts there contain members’ names, profile pictures and the positions they claim;
  • keep the Qualia bot’s access limited to what it needs: View Channel, Send Messages and Embed Links in the log channel.

You are responsible for the people you add and for how your community uses what it sees on Qualia. Do not register a server to claim a community you don’t run, or to block the people who do.

8.Reviewing for a community

Reviewers see the verification requests sent to their community, decide them on the Qualia website, and can revoke a verification their community gave. As a reviewer, you agree to:

  • verify only what you know to be true from your community’s records or your own knowledge;
  • deny or ask for changes to entries that are wrong, and revoke a verification when you learn it was given in error;
  • act only for the community that added you, and stop when you are removed or leave its staff;
  • never offer, accept or ask for money, Robux, favours or anything else in exchange for a verification, and never threaten to withhold one;
  • use what you see about members, such as their requests, entries and messages, only to handle verification for your community, and not share it outside the people who handle verification;
  • keep notes factual. A note to the member is shown to them. Private notes are seen by your community’s other reviewers.

You can’t decide a request about your own entry. Your decisions are recorded with your account and your Discord user ID, and your name is shown to the member and in your community’s log channel post. Qualia may remove a reviewer’s access, or a community’s ability to verify, if verifications are inaccurate or the tools are misused. Qualia’s administrators can also decide requests for any registered community and set an entry’s status directly; their decisions are recorded as made by a Qualia administrator.

9.Badges

Badges are awarded by Qualia’s administrators, at their discretion. Some badges name a community and are awarded to members connected with it. A badge is not a verification, and it isn’t an endorsement of you by Qualia, or of Qualia by the community it names.

  • You can’t ask for a badge as of right, and Qualia may remove a badge at any time.
  • You can hide your badges from your profile in Settings.
  • Do not imitate a badge, for example in your images, or buy, sell or trade one.

10.Usernames

  • Your username is the address of your profile. It is unique, between 3 and 20 characters long, and uses lowercase letters, numbers and underscores.
  • You can change it once every 14 days. Your old username keeps redirecting to your profile and is held for 30 days, so nobody else can take it in that time. After that, anyone can claim it.
  • Some usernames are reserved: the names of Qualia pages, and names that could be mistaken for Qualia, its staff, ER:LC, Police Roleplay Community or Roblox.
  • We may refuse or reclaim a username that impersonates a person or community, infringes someone’s trademark, or is offensive.
  • A username is not property. You may not sell or trade it.

11.Acceptable use

Follow the Community Guidelines. In particular, do not:

  • break the law, or use Qualia to help anyone else break it;
  • harass, threaten or publish private information about anyone;
  • try to get into accounts or data that are not yours, or test Qualia’s security without our permission. If you find a security problem, report it to us privately;
  • scrape, crawl or bulk-collect information from Qualia. Search engines that follow Qualia’s robots.txt file are fine;
  • disrupt the service, overload it, or get around its rate limits, privacy settings, suspensions or other protections;
  • use Qualia to spread spam, malware, phishing or scams;
  • buy, sell or trade accounts, usernames, verifications or badges;
  • use the Qualia bot, a log channel or anything you see as a representative to harass, expose or target anyone.

12.Discord, Roblox and ER:LC

Qualia is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Emergency Response: Liberty County, Police Roleplay Community, Roblox Corporation, or Discord Inc.

Emergency Response: Liberty County, Roblox and Discord are trademarks of their respective owners. Qualia uses these names only to describe what it is for. A community being named on a profile does not make that community part of Qualia, or Qualia part of it.

You sign in with your Discord account, so Discord’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines apply to that account. ER:LC is a Roblox experience, so your play is governed by the Roblox Terms of Use and the rules of the communities you belong to. These terms do not change any of those, and you must follow them too.

The Qualia bot is added to a Discord server only by the people who manage it. Qualia uses it to confirm who manages a server, to list the channels it can post in, and to post and update verification requests in the log channel a community chooses. Reviewing happens on the Qualia website.

Profiles can link to other websites. Qualia does not control those sites and is not responsible for them.

13.Intellectual property

Qualia’s name, logo, design and software belong to the Qualia project. These terms do not give you any right to use them, except to link to your profile or to describe your experience on Qualia.

Reporting infringement

If you believe something on Qualia infringes your copyright or trademark, contact us. Please include:

  • your name and how we can reach you;
  • the work or trademark you own;
  • where the content is on Qualia, such as the profile address;
  • a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized, and that the information in your report is accurate.

We will review the report. We may remove the content and tell the member who added it, and we may close the accounts of members who infringe repeatedly.

14.Moderation, suspension and termination

You can stop using Qualia and delete your account at any time.

Qualia’s administrators can see any account and profile, edit profile text and links, change usernames, remove images, hide or delete experience entries, award and remove badges, and suspend accounts. Suspending an account signs it out everywhere. Every one of these actions is recorded in the audit log under the administrator’s account.

We may remove content, remove badges, limit features, or suspend or close an account if you break these terms or the guidelines, if we need to in order to protect members, communities or the service, or if the law requires it. A suspended account cannot sign in. Where we can, we will tell you what happened and why, and you can ask us to look at the decision again, as described under Appeals in the Community Guidelines.

We may change, pause or stop all or part of the service. If we decide to shut Qualia down, we will try to give notice so you can export your data first.

The parts of these terms that by their nature should continue after your account ends, such as section 4 for records we keep, and the disclaimers and limits of liability, continue to apply.

15.Disclaimers

Qualia is free and provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises about the service, including that it will be available without interruption, secure or free of errors, or that any profile, experience entry or verification is accurate, complete or current.

Profiles are written by members, and verifications are statements by communities. Decisions you make based on them are your own.

16.Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Qualia and the people who run it are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost data, reputation, opportunities or profits, arising from your use of Qualia or your inability to use it.

Qualia does not charge for its service. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us to use it in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that the law does not allow to be limited or excluded, such as liability for fraud, and nothing in them takes away rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.

17.Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Qualia changes. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. If a change significantly affects your rights, we will tell members before it takes effect, for example with a notice on the site.

If you keep using Qualia after a change takes effect, the updated terms apply to you. If you do not agree with them, you can delete your account.
